Abstract

The Dioritic Canindé Velho Stock (± 6 km²), with elongated NW-SE is intrusive plutonic rocks in the Domain Canindé, and is located in the northern part of the Sergipano Belt. Their contacts with the host rocks are well marked on aerial photographs by faults. The outcrops are abundant and diorites are medium to coarse grained, show isotropic structure or locally marked by magmatic flow that oriented the crystals of hornblende, plagioclase and enclaves. The modal analysis allowed us to classify the rocks of this stock as hornblende biotite quartz diorite, quartz diorite, hornblende biotite diorite. The host rocks of the stock consists of hornblende quartz monzonite porphyry. The textures indicate that these diorite rocks have not undergone regional deformation found in the host rocks. The geochemical data identified metaluminosus nature, with calc-alkaline high K2O and shoshonitic affinities. The data showed traces of elements it is post-collision magmatic melts with affinity for the arc generated in volcanic environment. The issues identified in this stock allows assign it to post-orogenic magmatism in the Serra do Catu type.
