Abstract

Here we present the views of Chemistry undergraduate degree course on Atom and Atomic Models. The subjects are students registered in courses at the beginning, middle and end of the course (Fundamentals of Chemistry, Coordination of Chemistry and Supervised Internship in Chemistry IV). The data was collected through a questionnaire in the period 2014/2. Data analysis showed difficulty of students in conceptualizing the atom, and represent you through the atomic models of Dalton, Thompson, Rutherford, Bohr and the current. We realized that the initial training contributes to advances in the understanding of the concepts. However, the improvement of concepts is still limited, showing the need for reflection on how the course has contributed to the training of future teachers of Chemistry.
