Benefits of reverse logistics to improve the production process

Currently companies fail to profit more by not using their products returned as instruments to improve their production processes, reduce complaints and field return rates. The implementation of reverse logistics methodology provides the company control over the waste caused by the scrapping of returned products is the fulfillment of the useful life or failure function for which it was designed, directly impacting on organizational outcomes. Performing a reverse network, striving to reduce the negative impacts of its products on the environment, anticipating the pressures that may arise and trying to adapt the new competitive market conditions, may become an important business strategy. This study aims to present the benefits brought about by the improvement of the production process through the application of reverse logistics company in the plastics industry. This is an exploratory and descriptive, using a case study. The benefits brought about by the allies reverse logistics process improvement were treated to reducing costs, the waste caused by improper handling or scratches because the cases were correctly mapped and formalized procedures. Accordingly points out that increased reliability of processes, facilitating managers to access important information for decision making, as well as the contribution to the logistics operation within the organization, both for its economic potential, as its importance for the preservation environment, seeking an institutional image linked to environmental sustainability.
