This work is the result of the master's thesis of the Graduate Program in Education and Science Teaching in the Amazon at the University of the State of Pará. The objective of the study was to develop a didactic sequence on the theme “composting of solid organic waste” to foster conceptual, procedural and attitudinal learning on socio-environmental issues. The didactic sequence was structured in the three conceptual, procedural and attitudinal learning typologies, involving the competence and ability of the curricular component of the natural sciences area set out in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), developed in three stages spread over seven classes and applied in a group of the 5th year of elementary school, the initial years of the Municipal School of Elementary Education in the municipality of Moju/PA. The data underwent categorical content analysis, creating a posteriori categories for the discussion of the results. The work pointed to advances in learning conceptual, procedural and attitudinal of the participants, enabling new understandings and attitudes about the composting of organic waste, as well as the formation of subjects that multiply ideas and educational practices, involved in building new environmental, social and scientific relationships aimed at science teaching.
