The potential phytogeographical of Sergipe: an approach from protected areas for sustainable use
Keywords:
Conservation Units, forest remnants, participatory managementAbstract
Although Brazil has one of the best laws to deal with natural resources, is the frequent inappropriate use of their forest resources. The native vegetation is almost destroyed in some regions of the country and in others this process has been accelerating, through deforestation and illegal burning, bringing a series of negative impacts for all involved and the environment. In the State of Sergipe much of the native vegetation has been cleared to meet the socio-economic, leaving at present, forest remnants that generally, are included in conservation units (CUs). Officially, the State has 15 CUs, six and nine of Integral Protection of Sustainable Use. This research was performed in the CUs of Sustainable Use: A National Forest, five Areas of Environmental Conservation and three Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPNs). The study aimed to analyze the remaining forest Sergipe CUs that are inserted in the Sustainable Use. The research was conducted from literature surveys, of interviews with those responsible for administration and management of units, namely: Chico Mendes Institute for Conservation and Biodiversity (ICMBio), Department of Environment and Water Resources (SEMARH), responsible for Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPNs) and visits in locu the units to be surveyed. With the results of the research aims to contribute to improvements in the administration of territorial spaces from the participatory management.Downloads
