Analysis of the vegetation structure in an area of the Cerrado-Caatinga in Bom Jesus-PI.

diameter structure, structure hypsometric, forest formationAbstract
In the state of Piaui, the Caatinga and Cerrado are the major forest types. Although the state provide various types of forest formations, the studies on the structure diameter and hypsometric an early stage, these studies are of paramount importance for the understanding of plant community structure, in addition to supporting management actions for these areas. In this sense, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the hypsometric relations, obtained in an area of savanna-savanna transition in Bom Jesus - PI. The forest inventory was conducted in a transition area cerrado-caatinga, located in Bom Jesus, we used twenty sampling units, which were released in a systematic way, it was adopted as a criterion for inclusion living and dead individuals with DBH ≥ 2 cm, height ≥ 1.5 m The parameters were calculated dendrometric basal area and volume, still being held horizontal and vertical distribution, in addition, subjects were evaluated for the behavior of the stem. The basal area was found to be 11.045 m2. ha-1 was 49.757 and the volumetry m3.ha-1, with the quality of the stem, 79% of subjects had a straight stem. In the diameter distribution and hypsometric, most people focused on the early grades, typical of forests inequiâneas.
