Abstract

In this work the dielectric properties of the Ba1-xCaxTiO3 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.15 and 0.23) ceramic bodies were investigated by impedance spectroscopy. The ceramics were produced from nanosized powders synthesized by Pechini method, and presented a single crystalline phase and good homogeneity microstructure. The electrical measurements were performed to study the influence of calcium concentration on the structural transitions of BaTiO3 from 15 K to 420 K, at the frequency of 1 KHz. Through the dielectric constant versus temperature curves, it was observed the presence of three structural phase transitions: cubic-tetragonal, tetragonal-orthorhombic and orthorhombic-rhombohedral in the samples up to 15 mol% Ca. Above this concentration only the cubic-tetragonal transition (Curie transition) was observed in the temperature range studied.
