Synthesis and laser sintering of the SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy ceramics
Keywords:
Strontium aluminates, Laser sintering, phosphorescenceAbstract
Long lasting phosphorescent materials has attracted attention due to your great potential in practical applications in several ways, as example, electronic displays, high energy detectors, digital radiography, optical memory and images storage. In particular, Eu2+, Dy3+ co-doped strontium aluminates (SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy) presents phosphorescence with life time of 10h. Therefore, in the present work we have as objective the synthesis by the polymeric precursor method and the laser sintering of SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy. In the laser sintering method, a CO2 laser is used as the main heating source, resulting in a processing with high heating and cooling rates. To characterization, Differential Thermal Analysis, thermogravimetry and X-ray diffractions techniques was employed.Downloads
