Accessibility and Higher Education: a case study at the Federal University of Sergipe

The main objective of this work was to identify and analyze problems architectural in nature, educational and cultural preventing access of persons in situations of disability on the campus of São Cristóvão, Federal University of Sergipe. Used as instruments a case study, qualitative,quantitative and descriptive. Data were collected from observation in living areas of the UFS, photographic records, as well as data collection on the Board of Academic Affairs (DAA) and the Central Committee of the University entrance. Although the quota system for people suffering from disabilities, barriers persist, both physical and cultural communication, verydifficult or impossible access to knowledge.Downloads
