The University Pharmacy (UP) is a healthcare center that provides pharmaceutical services to the population, playing a crucial role in the practical training of pharmacy students by offering real-world experiences and integrating teaching, research, and outreach. A descriptive cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted, in which data were collected through a structured form and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study involved 59 UPs in Brazil, revealing that the majority are located in the South and Southeast regions of the country, 69,5%, which can be attributed to the concentration of pharmacy courses in these areas. Approximately 16.9% do not offer mandatory internships, violating National Curriculum Guidelines, possibly due to a shortage of supervising pharmacists. The infrastructure of most UPs meets legal requirements, and in terms of human resources, UPs have an average of seven staff members, including three pharmacists who supervise an average of nine students. The most common services provided are health education (86.4%), dispensing (83.1%), and pharmacotherapeutic monitoring (49.2%). The most frequent pharmaceutical procedures performed include clinical parameter measurement (74.6%), pharmaceutical prescription (35.6%), and administration of injectables (16.9%). The research highlights the importance of UPs in pharmaceutical education and public health, emphasizing the need for adequate human resources to ensure the connection between theory and practice. Knowledge about the characteristics of UPs drives teaching practices aligned with social demands, which is essential for the continuous development of these institutions.
