Abstract

In this work we are proposing a new synthesis route in order to obtain BaTiO3 and Ba0.77Ca0.23TiO3 based on Proteic Sol-Gel method, which use coconut water as the main solvent and polymerization agent. Differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetric (TG), X-Ray diffraction and Impedance spectroscopy techniques were used to the characterization of the synthesis process. From the thermal decomposition study of the precursor solution, a calcination temperature above 950 °C was adopted. The ceramics sintered at 1300 °C/2h present a good relative density and single crystalline phase. Finally, the dielectric constant of the ceramic bodies was monitored as the principal quality factor.
