Patient dosimetry in diagnostic radiology
Keywords:

In image processes using X radiation, it is necessary to look for a commitment between low patient dose and image quality. In this study, the image quality and the patient dose in a Radiology department of a public hospital were evaluated. For that, three questionnaires, based on European community publications, were developed for allowing an evaluation of the image quality and for getting the techniques used during the examinations, which were necessary for the dose calculation. A control of the rejected X rays was also performed. The real rate of rejected radiographies and the principal causes of rejection were determinate. The panorama of the service was obtained allowing the identification of aspects of improvement.Downloads
