This study aimed to carry out an epidemiological analysis of notified cases of leprosy in the state of Bahia and in the municipality of Teixeira de Freitas from 2001 to 2019, Brazil. Data available in the Information System of Notifiable Diseases of the Ministry of Health, from Brazil, reported cases of leprosy in Bahia and in Teixeira de Freitas. The variables analyzed: gender, location, age group, diagnostic surgery class and degree of cure. It is possible to observe that for Bahia, and especially for Teixeira de Freitas, the eradication of the disease is an intangible reality. The state of Bahia has a high incidence of leprosy cases and Teixeira de Freitas has a very high incidence. Regarding the variables established in the study, both in Bahia and in Teixeira de Freitas, it was found that the predominance of registered cases was male and aged between 30 and 39 years.
