Abstract

Nowadays, it is of fundamental interest that analytical methods are certified in search of greater precision and accuracy in data analyses. Statistics have produced models for optimization and for supplying more reliable parameters for the field of nuclear instrumentation. The availability and utilization of non destructive methods of analysis have spread throughout the world. One example of these methods is gamma spectrometry, which is very efficient for determination of radionuclides. In this context, NaI(Tl) and HPGe detectors have been the most utilized for gamma spectrometry, especially HPGe due to its high resolution. This work has the objective of carrying out a comparative study between HPGe and NaI(Tl) detectors for analyses of  238U, 232Th e 40K in environmental samples.
