Abstract

This study evaluated the removal of zinc in solutions prepared in the laboratory, through the process of adsorption, using a finite bath system and with the adsorbent, clay Brasgel in which characterization
studies were performed. The clay Brasgel was characterized by X-ray diffraction, Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometry, Cation Exchange Capacity and adsorption of nitrogen. It was evaluated the behavior
of the adsorption of zinc ions present in aqueous solution, due to the variation of the initial concentration of zinc through the adsorption isotherms, which were obtained with the experimental data of equilibrium. The models of Langmuir and Freundlich were fitted to the experimental data giving the first one the best results.
