The aim of this study was to characterize the development of canopy characteristics of xaraes grass and their interrelation during the regrowth period. The experiment was conducted at Universidade Estadual Paulista/ UNESP, Jaboticabal, Brazil. It was studied the development in terms of canopy height and leaf area index during regrowth of the grass until reach the average of 95% interception of PAR and at 45 days of regrowth was performed the study of relationships between the characteristics of canopy. Sampling points (12) were taken on the canopy of grass to perform the canopy height, interception of photosynthetic active radiation, the leaf area index and herbage mass of the same sample. Data were subjected to regression analysis. The xaraes grass at 45 days of regrowth reaches 58cm of height, LAI 6 and 95% of IRFA with light extinction coefficient of 0.27 and mass of 7298 kg DM / ha.Downloads
