Water is considered as the base for the development of humans and others life forms. In order to minimize the effects generated by external and environmental agents, water goes through a series of processes. In a natural way, water possesses physical, chemical and biological elements that characterizes it and indicates the proper treatment to be done. Among the chemical agents is the aluminum (Al3+), which, even though it can be found in a natural way, is also added in the process of water treatment in the coagulation stage as clarifying agent. The aluminum is considered one of the main contaminants that need to be removed with better effectiveness due to it possessing bio cumulative characteristics and being related to the cause of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer. In order to minimize the concentration of aluminum, the present work has as objective removing the aluminum with the use of microorganisms. For the present work, it was initially determined the ideal points of pH, concentration and the type of aluminum to be tested, and then the experiments of selection with previously isolated bacteria from mangroves and biodiesel plants were done. A reduction of 30,67% of the existing aluminum in the medium was evidenced with the bacteria ANAE 02 isolated from mangrove.
