Organizations and multidimensional functions : the case of two companies in southern Brazil
Keywords:
morality, legitimacy, organizational performanceAbstract
Organizational structures and managers are directed to incorporate new practices and "institutionalized" procedures in search of legitimacy. Regarding to the organization’s concept suggested by Drucker (1976), the objective of this paper is to identify how the moral, political and operational dimensions are performed in two organizations, through the application of semi-structured questionnaire in two automotive parts segment industries, with an exploratory research. The survey’s instrument used theLikert scale, which was set to examine the answers given by the managers of the selected companies, listed as a perceptive sample. The results of this study showed that the companies have practices aimed to the definition of their operational objectives, but they need to implant and improve methodologies for performance evaluation related to their moral function and social responsibility.
