Abstract

Many educators have difficulty organizing their time to seek technological refinement to tailor their teaching to the nowadays requirements. The grueling routine of the classroom, the volume of activities and functions to fulfill, associated with other family and social commitments overwhelm the lives of teachers from north to south. This problem undermines the success of the teaching- learning process in schools, causing a concern about the education of future critical citizens in society. This article reflects on the need to update the teachers regarding the use of technologies such as the computer in their classroom practices, employing it critically and creatively. We search also about the reality of these teachers, who are struggling to continue their professional training process. These reflections were made from data obtained through questionnaires with participant teachers and coordinators of the Continuing Education Program in Media in Education - E-ProInfo, conducted by the Federal University of Sergipe, in partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
