Social consortium of rural youth: an educational experience as educator

This article, besides showing data about youngsters in Family Farming in the South Region and in Brazil, based on some theorists, reports an experience of a formation project for young family farmers – the Consórcio Social da Juventude Rural-CSJR, coordinated by the Federação dos Trabalhadores na Agricultura Familiar da Região Sul-FETRAF-SUL/CUT. This paper portrays the history of the federation that coordinated the CSJR and the youngsters’ organization in it. It emphasizes the oblivion of this parcel of the population called young family farmers, regarding the history of public policies, showing many advances conquered in the last years, but that need to be enlarged and improved. It describes the project in details, presenting the obtained results, highlighting some challenges and pointing out some suggestions.Downloads
