The catingueira (Poincinella pyramidale (Tul.) LP Queiroz) is a tree species belonging to the Caesalpinaceae Family and can be found throughout the Northeast, especially inpredominantly Caatinga. Possesses timber, forage and medicine, and their wood is widely used for the production of firewood and coal pile. This study aimed to assess the health of catingueira’s seeds and the use of garlic extract (Allium sativum) seeds in the treatment of P. pyramidalis. 100 seeds were used for each treatment distributed in 10Petri dishes with 10 seeds each. The seeds were washed in sterile water and transferred to the chapel of isolation, where they were soaked in garlic extract solution for 1 minute after that time were plated in Petri dishes containing two filter papers. It can be observed that the Aspergilli and A. glaucus Niger appeared in all repeats ranging from 70 to 100%.This can be said that the extract of garlic (A. sativum) was only effective in reducing the A. Alutaceous species.
