Abstract

The communication in the classroom is an essential aspect in teaching, because the language being themain resource used by teachers in the act of teaching is of paramount importance in the teacher-studentinteraction. The study of the discursive interactions and the language has grown in many areas ofknowledge and has demonstrated strength in research in science education. This study sought toinvestigate the teacher-student verbal interaction of physics classes, based on the theoretical contributionsof the Flanders interaction analyses system. The research involved physics classes in two public highschool in the city of Itabaiana-SE. The survey instrument used was video recording of classes which wereused to make analyzes based on the Flanders interaction analyses system. The analyzes show that theinteraction between teachers and students in physics classes is small, demonstrating that these lessons arestill focused on teacher and student as they leave the taxpayer.
