This paper describes and discusses, under the perspective of the municipal public politicies, the natural and cultural aspects of Hill of Massaranduba, an area of ecological interest in the municipal district of Arapiraca-Al, Brazil. This Hill presents a remaining vegetation typical of transition areas between Savanna and the Atlantic forest and it stands out in the municipal district for its environmental/natural patrimony and cultural relevance. The study was based on bibliographical researches; technical visits to the area to collect, to identify and to classify some species of the flora and entomofauna; interviews to the public organs; and use of questionnaires with the local residents. It was confirmed that the absence of public politicies in the planning and management area results in its sub utilization, and contributes to environmental passives. As it was possible to notice, the Hill presents a restricted use serving, and it is especially used for the annual religious manifestation (Passion of Christ), that contradictory contributes to the extirpation of its natural elements.Downloads
