Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate the survival and growth in diameter and height of four native woody species. We evaluated the species angico vermelho (Anadenanthera macrocarpa Benth.), aroeira
vermelha (Schinus terebinthifolius Radii), cedro (Cedrela fissilis Vell.) and Gonçalo-alves (Astronium fraxinifolium Schott.). (Schott.). The experimental design was focused in random blocks with four replications, in subdivided alternated plots. We evaluated the survival, the diameter at soils level (SND) and the total height (TH), 12 and 24 months of age. The data were submitted to analysis of variance and means compared by Tukey test at 5% significance level. The species with the highest survival rates were aroeira vermelha and Gonçalo-alves, 100% and 99.5% at 24 age of months, respectively. The SND of the species have superior growth rates in evaluated periods. The initial growth evaluation indicates the establishment potential of each forest species environment cultured.
