Evaluation of weight gain of sheep kept in holy inês silvopastoral system in semi-arid

The study was conducted in savanna environment using silvopastoral system (SSP) with the goal of optimization and management components of native trees in association with Santa Inês sheep on farms in semi-arid region of Sergipe, located in the village Tapado Stone-Mole SE. 36 sheep were used with average weight of 25 kg. The experiment lasted 105 days. The experimental design was randomized blocks with three replications and 12 animals per paddock. The statistical inferences were employed analysis of variance and means were compared by Tukey test (5%). Animals kept in SSP largest possible values for daily weight gain, weight gain during the period were influenced (P<0.05) compared to crossbred sheep, lamb and sheep disposal ranging from 0.130, 0.125 and 0.135 g/animal, and ranged from 3.04, 3.55 and 4.12 kg / animal, respectively. The silvopastoral system during the period of greatest water deficit allowed for the farmer a greater weight gain and slaughter can help as an alternative system of production of small ruminants in semi-arid.Downloads
