A Methodological Proposal employing zone capillary electrophoresis to explained chemistry concepts.
Keywords:
capillary zone electrophoresis, ion mobility, undergraduate education in Chemistry.Abstract
The study of separating species has been approached by several techniques, among which we can highlight capillary electrophoresis, analytical tool that employs the potential difference and electric current generated for promoting the displacement of ionised particles or molecules. This separation process occurs within a fused silica capillary with an internal diameter of approximately 75μm. In this work, capillary zone electrophoresis was used to describe a methodology and the theory involved, regarding the technique. The methodology was applied to the undergraduate students of chemistry, at the Federal University of Sergipe, Campus Profo. Alberto Carvalho. The theoretical and practical aspects were discussed for improvements in both approach and the students' knowledge of solutions, ion mobility and analytical methodologies.
